Opening this Saturday at Blackbird Attic is “Applied Biology”, featuring the artwork of Jason Levesque aka “Stuntkid”. Jason’s work is breathtakingly beautiful at times, and slightly haunting at others. The body of Leveque’s work mainly comprises illustration and photography, with some editing and colouring in Photoshop on top. He says that he is “inspired by a science-based subject I’m reading about. “I’ll get excited about something in the natural world and try to mesh it into my illustration work.”
Opening this Saturday, September 11th, at Gallery Nucleus is ‘Sweet Streets II’, sponsored by Hi-Fructose, Tokyofashion.com and SOSO Happy. Following up on last year’s successful ‘Sweet Streets’, inspired by Japanese streets, attracted hundreds of art and fashion enthusiasts. This year’s exhibit is aiming to be even more successful, with internationally known artists, photographers, and fashion designers in attendance.

Friday night was a big night for Chicago art toy store and gallery, Rotofugi. After recently moving to a larger premises, and they chose for the grand opening celebration Playboy Redux. Showcasing some of the biggest names in contemporary art, all of whom have interpreted the iconic Playboy Bunny in their own style, the show runs until September 12, 2010.
There is so much nostalgic awesomeness here we don’t know where to begin! Hosted by Gallery 1988, The 3G Show: Ghostbusters, Gremlins and Goonies, is celebrating all the best of the 1980s, features art inspired by all three of the ‘G’s, and is being staged by the Autumn Society.
Currently showing at the Corey Helford Gallery, LA based artist, Buff Monster will be displaying his solo exhibition ‘Beyond The Pink’. His inspiration for this show is heavily influenced on his recent summer vacation to Europe. This exhibition ends on the 22nd September.
